Re: ATI Driver for Touch Pro

Well I would think if this is somehow allowing the hardware to work or do more of the work more efficiently it would then take some software strain and processing power off the device as a whole and allow just a little more power to snap a picture properly. Anything that can optimize the way the OS runs can improve device speed and ability. Some process has to tell it to snap the picture even their is no push button, shutter or roll of film. Heck if you could somehow load the built in camera software to run entirely off the memory card I'll bet the pictures would be quite a mess.

But all that aside, and even from how others have said it is working. If you own two of them and don't have them loaded with third party junk and do a side by side you'll notice a difference.

Doesn't work that way. A camera's parameters to give a proper exposure do not vary, regardless of how fast the camera is operating. You will get an improperly exposed picture if a certain parameter is changed without compensating with another parameter. It's not something where you can just speed up normal operation and fix the blur. The camera simply does not boost ISO aggressively to compensate for low light conditions. That is not something that is solved by anything other than changes to the camera software.

Re: ATI Driver for Touch Pro

Really so I have a camera in my laptop that when the driver is loaded improperly, like when I restore my OS it takes blurry or slightly off color pictures, yet load in that software and drivers and boom sharp again. A cheap little digital camera can be influenced by the environment around it. It is simple and others have reported similar results.

Further if the screen is lagging behind what you think your shooting and you move before it snaps your gonna have blur. If the screen had no impact on it take a picture without the screen. You couldn't even aim accurately much less try to use focus properly. I will admit I don't think this has modified the camera software or hardware obviously, but it has fixed the blur of the final product.

So bottom line like others my camera isn't junk anymore, and oddly enough something from that video driver did it. Hard as it may be to understand a fact is a fact, and the truth is it works on both of mine. I took cars driving by on dim streets nice and clear, before this blurred.

It may make it easier for you as a user to properly use the camera, but it does not change the ultimate deficiencies of the camera. Don't get viewfinder performance confused with camera performance.

Re: ATI Driver for Touch Pro

i dont have my TP yet, so i cant comment on the claims for or against the camera taking better pictures (though i will find out for myself soon). i may be wrong, but from what i understand, if you have powerful hardware with improper software, you are essentially castrating whatever it is because it wasnt optimized. just as you cant just toss any windows game to a macintosh and expect it to run because both system specs are identical

Re: ATI Driver for Touch Pro

I'm the guy that posted the thread on HoFo. There is definitely an improvement throughout the UI of the phone, especially TF3D. The camera does load slightly faster, but that's all I notice. Taking picture is the same for me, no blurriness.

For those in need of the hack, you can check my blog for the manual hack via regedit. I will be uploading the actual cab for download since xda-developers keeps having site issues.

So you are saying this as a proven fact based on actual tests done by a reputable source?

Didn't think so...as you don't offer anything to back up your statement.

Have a nice day as well...

Re: ATI Driver for Touch Pro

OK folks, I've managed to upload the cab file to my blog. This is the same one posted at xda-developers.com.
