Re: ATI Driver for Touch Pro

I have understood that the Stock Telus D3D Driver is superior to the Diamond ati D3D Driver.

Would a device bearing Stock Telus D3D with ati imageon drivers gives an even better performance gain.

Could it be that the Telus Stock and Diamond ATI D3D are one and the same under different names?

Re: ATI Driver for Touch Pro

When I installed this cab, the ONLY difference I noticed was SlingBox problems. I noticed no difference whatever in TF3D operation, but I had already done all the speed tweaks etc & my TF has always worked just fine (no lag whatever) so there was really nothing to improve upon.

As far as the camera, I did try it briefly & didn't really notice any differences. I think the camera's a POS & rarely use it anyway. I have made a living as a Pro studio photographer in years past so I know a little about the subject & no camera phone pic has ever looked very good to me (I have a Canon SD1100IS I can throw in a pocket that takes amazingly good images with none of the awful shutter lag of the TP).

It does amaze me however that my wife has a $19 Samsung flip phone that is over two years old that is MUCH MUCH easier to take a quick snapshot with than the TP. That little thing has almost no shutter lag at all & the pics are not half bad for a camera phone..........

Sorry missing the point again. a camera takes a point in time frame of a video and since it is digital has to process the information into a format in this case primarily jpeg. If it has poor video processing performance it cannot grab all of the information fast enough thusly extending the exposure and bluring all but the steadiest of subjects. that is exactly how I can turn a 20 dollar web cam into something that performs near the level of my 300 dollar digital camera. An image is the same thing as a really short video from the terms of processing.

*note* I tried the driver and having someone time the time it takes from focus to snap it shaved about an eight of a second off the shot in medium light. noticable but not significant enough if it slows down literally any other part of the phone since the camera is still not quite useable.

Thanks for that.

Because a d3d driver is really going to help the camera take better pictures.....lmao

Are you on a custom ROM? If so, most ROMs i've seen already have this hack applied.

I can only speak for the Sprint Touch Pro, but both my brother and I can verify there is a noticeable speed increase in TF3D. Most notable when flipping through text messages, pictures, and switching tabs. In fact, before we applied the hack on his phone we had both side by side and he said mine felt much faster. Now that I think of it, I should have recorded it on video.

However, some people have reported problems with drawing menus on the screen, especially in landscape mode. I have yet to experience any anomaly. YouTube and PocketPlayer seem to play video just fine.

Sprint phone, leaked verizon ROM (all functions work perfectly including MMS, GPS etc etc), activated on my Verizon business account.

TF3D works perfectly, no lag or jerking whatever. It gives me fast smooth operation now, so there is not much to improve on.....

Re: ATI Driver for Touch Pro

It's possible hardware acceleration was already enabled on your ROM. I'm interested to know what driver you have set in the registry (HKLM/System/D3DM/Drivers/LocalHook) for your ROM.

d3dm_ati.dll

Looks like it was already enabled (or uninstalling the cab didn't undo the change)

Re: ATI Driver for Touch Pro

I just unpacked & looked up the reg key from a backup I made on 12/23, the reg said d3dm_ati.dll at that time also.
