Re: Autocorrection/Autocompletion SOLVED

CLIFF NOTES VERSION (sorry it isn't saving when I do it to post 1):
1) Disable T9 by cab and soft reset
2) either use the Windows keyboard (which is poor for onscreen use) or Happy Tapping (which requires the Default IM cab to be your default input) OR to use the Full QWERTY Keypad (the preset default keyboard) you need to toggle T9 to on (even though T9 was disabled) and to do this toggle it, hit the 123/abc button a few times until it sticks and you'll get the old style completion/correction with that keyboard
3) to change the autocorrect dictionary find the autocorrect file in your Windows directory and change it using Total Commander (or other registry editor even though this is not in your registry) or DictMgr
The difference between this and othe posts is the ability to still use the standard keyboard with autocorrect and it goes into detail and what the options are, etc.

Re: Autocorrection/Autocompletion SOLVED

So does this method solve the "stuck on numbers" problem?

Re: Autocorrection/Autocompletion SOLVED

1) Install attached .cab. Then soft reset.
2) Go to Settings -> Input. Make sure all of the options for Word Completion are checked.
3) Bring up the on screen keyboard. Select Compact QWERTY. Move the slider from ABC to T9. Then you can select Full QWERTY once T9 is enabled.
4) Enjoy Word Suggestions and Autocorrection!

Note: I soft resetted a couple times and full keyboard is still working (not stuck on numbers). This might be what we are looking for!

Re: Autocorrection/Autocompletion SOLVED

Does this method allow the SYM key on the keyboard to pull up the symbol menu and also what ^ said. I want to maintain the stock touch keyboards.

Any way to disable suggestions but only enable autocorrection?

Start/settings/input/ choose word completion and uncheck "suggest words when entering text".

Seems to have no effect on auto correction.

Re: Autocorrection/Autocompletion SOLVED

I don't know what the stuck on numbers thing is but this works prperly...like the way it always should have. You can use the default keyboard (the thing called the Full QWERTY keyboard aka the Diamond keyboard) and it works the same way where you can hold and press a button and the function comes up, etc.

Re: Autocorrection/Autocompletion SOLVED

Thnks for the heads up on this it is working great for me. The stuck on # thing was the on screen keyboard would be stuck on #'s with the previous tweak that was posted here awhile back. This is working much better if only the SYM key would... Thanks again,

Re: Autocorrection/Autocompletion SOLVED

so the sym key is broken with the 'fix' also? with the other 'fix' my on-screen keyboard wasn't stuck right away, it took a couple days for the problem to surface.. so those of you that tried this cab can you let us know if your on-screen keyboard screws up in a few days?
