You need Total Commander or Resco File Explorer to do the operation ON THE PHONE itself.

ActiveSync isn't going to do it...

Re: Splash screens and startup animations

That annoying sound is your phone radio starting (same sound when you turn on flight mode).. you can turn it off in the registry by editing:
HKCU\ControlPanel\PhoneExtendedFunction\CDMA\Fligh tModeOnOff\

Edit EnableSound to 0

Re: Splash screens and startup animations

I too found a loading image I can't remember the origin of. The difference is I repeated the frames within the gif since animations loop once and stop.

This gif has 20 frames that loop 5 times so it appears to repeat when your phone is loading up rather than loop once and stop:

I really want to make this my welcomehead.192.png, however you can't make it move in this splash can you?

if I change it to the above its just a still frame and no longer a gif.

Download Advanced Config 3.3. When you open it, scroll down until you see "HTC Animation". Expand that list. There you will see "Startup GIF File" Click that and at the very bottom a drop down combo box will appear. Expand that and select "Browse..."

Once you've selected the gif file (try and make sure the gif file is in internal memory) select done, then ok when it says it needs to restart. Then you're done.

that's really weird man. On mine it's right below the splash screen item. I don't know what else to tell you. Perhaps some googling might help :/

I know the origin of that animation... Oh yeah... I made it! :P

Also, if anyone wants to be "win7 looking", splash: (Check file names before replacing)

And a welcome head to match:

I can't get the splash to work... I renamed it Start_640x480.gif.... when the phone boots up just get a blank black screen where the splash is supposed to be - the welcomehead works fine. Any suggestions?
