Listen to music w/ headphones while on Vibrate?

So on my old phone (Treo), there was a hardware switch for vibrate and when it was switched to vibrate, everything was always on vibrate. However if you plugged in the headphones, all the sounds were routed through the headphones.

With the TP it's a bit different. I have my phone on "Vibrate" -- yet if I go to listen to music (w/ my headphones) -- thru TF3D or Media Player -- nothing is routed through the headphones unless I turn the volume up on the phone, which I don't want to do. Then putting the phone back on Vibrate is kind of annoying.

I do this every day when I go to the gym so I'd really appreciate it if someone has a solution for this. Anyone?

Re: Listen to music w/ headphones while on Vibrate?

Do this:
1. Turn both ringer (System and Phone) to the maximum setting.
2. Go to Start -> Settings, and click the Personal tab
3. Click the Phone icon
4. Change the Ring Type from Ring to Vibrate and press OK.

This should put the phone ringer in vibrate mode while leaving the system volume at maximum.

Re: Listen to music w/ headphones while on Vibrate?

Thanks so much.

Will this keep alerts for text messages, e-mails, and voicemails on vibrate, as well?

edit: just found out, lol. Is there a way to keep the above on vibrate too?

^ I'll test that out. I was hoping there was a way to do it without installing a program but if it's the only solution, so be it.

You should be able to do that by simply pressing the volume rocker and then selecting the "Ring" tab and then selecting vibrate.

^ Tried that. That only works for the phone ring. But for everything else, (texts, etc) I still get an audible alert.

Re: Listen to music w/ headphones while on Vibrate?

This is actually something I'd like as well. There have been many times when I'm jamming and I get a text message that nearly blows my eardrums out.

Re: Listen to music w/ headphones while on Vibrate?

To make it vibrate for texts and other events:
Go back to Start -> Settings, then click Sounds & Notifications. Click the Notifications tab at the bottom of the screen, then select "Messaging: new text message" from the drop down list. Uncheck Play Sound, and check vibrate.

Repeat this for New E-Mail, Missed call, and Voice Mail along with any other alerts you want to vibrate instead. When you've changed all the events that you want to vibrate, press the OK button at the top right.
