wake on sms bugged?

I'd like to disable the wake on sms thing (where the screen turns on when you get a text message)... but according to the phone it is already disabled...

for one, i have diamond tweak which says it's disabled... then there's the registry key:
HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL : DisableSMSWakeUpEvent
is already set to 1... it should be disabled... but it still wakes up...

any suggestions?...

i have the sprint version if that makes any difference... maybe they bugged it so it looks at a different key?... i don't know... but it bothers me that the screen lights up every time i get a text... and usually results in me changing the text size by pulling it out of my pocket... really annoying...

It's been discussed several times here. I don't believe there has been a solution for it.

Mine randomly decides if it will wake up or not. In my case, I'd rather just have it stay asleep.

Get Diamond Tweak (free program). You can disable it with that. That is exactly what I used it for. Get it here. http://montecristoff.webs.com/
