Build date 12Dec08.
Problems with reception - 1 bar, very poor call quality. Wife's blackberry gets 4-5 bars at home, and perfect quality.

You may very well have a bad phone. Have you looked into getting it exchanged? Any other issues with the phone?

No other real issues. I'm on a pretty constant EVDO connection, software is all working fine...

Also, at work I get 4-5 bars. Most of the road on the way to work is 2-4. Within around a mile of home, the signal drops to nothing.

Thank you for advising how to find the build date.

Mine is a 12-12-08 build date, and everything seems fine.......although I just got it this week so I am still learning.

The only issue I have now that I didnt have with my previous phone a Moto Q9C is that I cant connect or recieve data while roaming..............

I have 2 TP and just exchanged one of them last night for another one. Here are my build dates and issues...

My wifes...
10/19/2008 Gets hot during moderate use.

Mine...
-First one I just exchanged was 11/17/08. Constantly freezing up while charging, volume up button broke and would stick. Battery cover was also loose and squeeky.

-New one I recieved last night is 12/16/08. Raised Home button. I will update my info if I notice anything else not working correctly after I use it more.

I had Build date of 11/07/08. Purchased at BestBuy on Dec19th.
I had phone run warm to hot.
I had mushy keyboard.
Cosmetically perfect until chrome started chipping for no reason.

I brought tback to BestBuy yesterday and told them overheating all the time.
I made shure it was warm from using Sprint Navigation while plugged into car charger.
Phone personel showed to person in charge. He felt it in his hand and said "give him new one".
My new Build date is 11/26/08.
keyboard is clicks better, no mushy space bar, screen more responsive, unit is not getting hot on car charger even with low battery.
All better except very, very slightly raised area near "home" button.
I only mention because others hav but it is really nothing so I am happy.

EDIT: Typo, my new Build date was 11/26/08, not 27th

Third TP: 12/15/2008

Golden. Perfect in every way just like the first TP I had.

nice! doesn't overheat on long phone calls/data sessions, or have less sensitivity around the edges of the screen? (I assume so, but doesn't hurt to ask!)
