90% battery???

I'm using HTC Touch Pro for 2 weeks.
I've a new problem with the battery (beside slow charging and weak battery).
I always charge my pda overnight.
However, it will stop charging at 90%.
It is same either with the original charger or travel charger.
But if I disconnect and charge again, it may reach 100% sometime.
I have try hard reset, soft reset, battery tweaks and search in website but still no solution...
Please help!!!
Thanks for all your expert opinions and solutions!

Re: 90% battery???

There is no real solution if you have tried all the batt tweaks. BUT, there are two things you can try.

1. Try charging with phone off. That way, nothing is working against it from fully charging. I.E, radio, data connection, etc....

2. Let it charge overnight. When you wake up, unplug it and plug it back in before you take it with you.

Remember, Li-ion batts do not have a memory effect like ni-cads or others similar. But, it is a good idea and a good habit to let it drain down to ALMOST dead at least once or twice a month. Charging a Li-ion batt when phone is off, keeps the batt calibrated as nothing is working against a FULL charge. I hope this helps ya!

Re: 90% battery???

Also, try charging from a computer. It charges slower, but it fills the battery.

Thanks...

1. I remember that when I charged it with phone off 2 days ago, it's much faster & went to full 100%. But if I switch on the phone or after soft reset, same thing happen. Thanks again, may be I will off the phone at night...

2. That's the way I'm doing now BUT it looks weird to do this on an expensive wonderful phone... Haha...

Thanks, I noted this too.
But what's the reason or any tweak for this so that the same goes for the regular charger...

I always charge from PC. For me, it seems to hold a charge longer as it's more or less a trickle charge.

It is nothing that can be tweaked... It's a matter of the physical/electrical properties of Lithium batteries.

Since the charge is increasing slower, the battery has the ability to thoroughly fill all the cells with power. Or at least that's what I believe is the reason.

Re: 90% battery???

Since there are numerous discussions related to battery performance and issues, I'm gonna close this one down.
