Remap headphones button

I've looked everywhere for an answer to this problem and haven't found anything, yet.........

I don't know about the other carriers but the headphones that come with the Touch Pro from Telus have a button on them that when pressed twice, calls the last person in your call history and it's very annoying because i always seem to press it by accident. Does anyone know how to disable this button?

Or even better would be to remap this button to control volume, like my P4000 from Telus did. I think it's stupid to have to turn on the device and manually turn down the volume.

The button almost feels like it's a rocker button, as in pressing the top of the button could turn the volume up and pressing the bottom would turn the volume down.

I have been forced to use my old P4000's headphones which are crapping out on me and if i don't find an answer to this problem soon i'm just going to have to take the Touch Pro's headphones apart and remove the button, but i really hope it doesn't come to that.

Any help would be much appreciated.
