Super is free and pretty easy to use.

Re: Video on TP

I know shelling out extra money sucks, but I really suggest Core Player too. I haven't had to compress any of my avi files further and they play smoothly. To me $20 is well worth not having to spend the time reformatting things.

Re: Video on TP

Its no the money but the playback i guess i need to use visual hub to compress into avi and try. I just want the "recipe" to make it work smoothly. Just ordered my 8gb class 6 card and im going to want to put movies on it.

I know it needs to be avi but what rate. Visual hub does avi convert..so is that all i need.

Agree on Handbrake, works great. I typically rip/convert video to MPG4 ("Classic" setting in Handbrake) to a resolution of half the devices native re (i.e. 400 x 240 on my N800, 320x240 on TP) at a rate of around 800. Seems to provide the best playback. Files at the native resolution always seem to have choppy playback, where if you let the device upscale it seems to work fine and look pretty good.

Your mileage may vary

Re: Video on TP

Half resolution (480x320) at 800Kbps seems to work very well for me, and still looks very high-quality.

Then you can convert them to wmp but who wants to hav to do those extra steps. thats what i got so far. good luck
I have the HTC video out cable, and I haven't seen a blue flicker. I've used the cable on an LCD tv, flat panel TV, and CRT tv.
