GPS on Alltel Touch Pro

Has anyone been able to unlock the crippled gps on the Alltel touch pro?

I will hook you up tomorrow morning. It's midnight and I have to headed for work by 4am. I can tailor my VZW GPS Fix for Alltel.

How is it crippled? I use tomtom and google maps all the time and it works great.

You have to turn on the GPS to use it.

Go to settings/phone/services/Location Setting/ set to on

You may have to use the Quick GPS application to update the satellite locations before it will work. Some work w/o and other's like mine needed to be updated.

Then it works with Google Maps with out having to pay for a service.

agreed, turn on and it works. Alltel has not crippled the gps on its TP.

my GPS works perfect. (Alltel TP) Locks in 10 secs from selecting "Use GPS" in Google Maps.

The 3rd party apps work well after getting it set up (above).
I just change the comm and the baud for my BT iBlue 737 Pro
and can switch between internal and external GPS.

Have no trouble using both on PocketFMS, iGuidence 4.0, Topo USA.
If I am splitting hairs for vertical NAV I use the BT iBlue 737 pro -
updates up to 5 times a sec where the internal is once a sec.

I have my GPS turned on, and i still can't get it to work with google maps, i just got the phone so i have alltel's navigation free for the first month, and if i pull that up the location comes up right away and the google maps works excellent also.

any suggestions?
