My GPS fix is to unlock the GPS chip which Verizon so kindly locked down for us.

Thx....see I had a Titan 6800 just a few days ago...

OK got that now. So have I hurt my TP device by putting in the setting from the QPST program:

PDE IP Address: 66.174.95.132
PDE Port Number: 8888
PDE Transport: IP
Position Calculation: PDE

What I am asking is should I remove them enlighten to what you have stated. I have applied his way first (with a Titan mind set since I came from xda) then yours. Looks like I only needed yours from your statement. But I am not sure what as functionality goes I have put my device in. Yes it work meaning GPS but since I have done both have I hurt myself...

Can you advise on that. Thx

I have tried TT7, but I found that Garmin locks quicker and I like the looks of it over TT7. Thats just me though.

Re: 12/25/08 Verizon GPS Fix v2.0

Has anyone tried the new Verizon update just released from http://search.vzw.com/?do=viewdoc&id=22128&p=null ? So far it seems more stable and little faster but I can't get the GPS to work following the instructions at the beginning of this thread. I had GPS working great before the upgrade with the Verizon pre-release from http://www.phonenews.com/phones/index.php/HTC_Touch_(CDMA) but it was slower and not as stable.

Any ideas on how to get my GPS unlocked without going back to the earlier ROM?

I have a Verizon XV6900. I'm pretty sure I had AGPS when it was unlocked before the ROM update because I could get a GPS lock just about anywhere I had a cell connection (I read earlier in this post Verizon phones didn't come with AGPS)>

Flash to a custom ROM.

They are generally better anyway.

In this case the only thing better about the custom ROM was that I could unlock the GPS. It locked up a lot more and was slower. The new Verizon ROM is very nice and stable so far. Just can't unlock the GPS.

Maybe there is a better custom ROM than the one I used before. Does anyone have any favorite custom ROM's?
