Re: SMS Keyboard Lag?

Try this from xda at your own risk

Here comes the tweak:

I've been facing this issue where the SIP menu (aka input menu), takes like 2 seconds to popup when you want to switch the input method, making me wonder if I didn't manage to press the little triangle... My old PDA didn't have such an issue.

So after some searching, I found this:

give it a shoot , Get a registry editor ,

1. Export HKCR\CLSID (will save to a *.reg file)
2. Del or Rename HKCR\CLSID
3. Import the backup of HKCR\CLSID

Turn off your device about 15 sec and reset

Re: SMS Keyboard Lag?

I do not have the problem, from my brief reading I remember users saying it helped them with the lag they were getting when typing.....

Im having a problem with my keybord but not this one. I slide the keybord open to text a message to my buddy. i can type the whole message and hit send and watch the message keep typing for a few seconds. sometimes i can even turn the screen off and back on and its still typing.

Re: SMS Keyboard Lag?

i'm still getting some delay with that >.<
and again, its ONLY in the SMS app.
i just tried it in the email app and it was just fine. grr.
could it be because i'm using threaded SMS?
and should i try those registry edits with the stock rom?

Holy Crap this is nice!! Not only did this tweak speed up the switching of keyboards (from 7 seconds to instantly) it also lit up the overall performance of my TP. I have no idea why or how the tweak works, but it sure does. Word of warning though, backup your device before doing this. Lotsa dudes had to hardreset (including me my first try) after doing the tweak. The renaming method didnt work so well but the export/import way worked like a charm. I originally read this at xda, but when i saw HB post it, i knew it had to be real Thanks given HB.
