Re: full HTML email
[QUOTE=mdodge;585990]I'm a web designer so I know how to code css, html..ect. But the problem is it wont let you use code when composing. Like I said it does use html. If you compose an email, send it to yourself and then look at the source, its formatted html correctly. But the default composer is basically a rich text editor without any of the formatting tools, as it doesn't allow you access to the html.
Unless there are some other special tags to access the html features, but it seems if there were, it would be documented somewhere. Take for example a forum like this, you use special tags like Quote:

Re: full HTML email
Using HTML tags in a text based email will not work. Whether an email is Text or HTML is encoded in the the email headers to tell each client how to handle the email message.
The only way to do it is with a client that can compose in HTML. |

Re: full HTML email
Well yeah thats the point. Microsoft claims outlook mobile can compose in html, but that is not entirely true. It may just be a "misunderstood" explaination because when sending an email, it is encoded as html. Like I said in a few posts back, when adding a web address while composing, outlook mobile converts it into a clickable link. The default composer doesnt allow manual insertion of this html, but it is supported. So I guess technically outlook mobile can compose html, just that a user can't control it.

Re: full HTML email
You'd think by now we should be able to bold, italic, underline and send justified or bullet point emails. Mobile Word allows it...

Re: full HTML email
Definitely. Especially odd since the full desktop versions of office outlook always by default use word as the editing/composing engine. The choice to move away from this design structure on windows mobile is puzzling.

Re: full HTML email
I don't think you are giving Microsoft enough credit. A year or so ago we got the ability to 'read' HTML emails with WM6. So now Mobile Outlook is only 8 years behind the technology curve!

Re: full HTML email
Any chance of getting HTML e-mails with my Exchange 2003 server? I know, I have read that HTML is supported in Exchange 2007, upgrade, etc., and I was fine with this except that a coworker gets HTML e-mail on his iphone through our Exchange 2003 server so it seems like there should be something that can be done on the phone to do the same thing. Otherwise Microsoft is basically admitting that Apple can interface with Microsoft products better than it can. Pretty funny. Any ideas?
