Re: UPDATE:Rainbow looking circle

The smudge is a defect in some of the TP's I had my mogul replaced and the TP I got was brand new. I noticed this smudge as I unpacked it before I took the plastic off. I called it in and one said it was a known issue but recently made know. They are exchanging it out for me.

Re: UPDATE:Rainbow looking circle

I had the rainbow circle show up on my first Touch Pro, that I exchanged for another reason. Anyway, when I was in the Sprint store, I had them looking at the smudge, and they took the screen protector off, and the smudge went away. I assume that it's just stuff that builds up between the screen protector and the screen.

Re: UPDATE:Rainbow looking circle

I don't know about it being relative to the screen protector. I've only had the phone for a week and a half and i didn't put a protector on it. Have been treating it very carefully. Still have the spot. I remember the phone was in my right side jean pocket and I pulled it out and the phone had the spot. I assumed it would go away. To no avail. I guess i'll look into the matter next week. All the sprint stores around me are just for paying bills and the other nonsense. No real repair shops within a 50 mile radius. Although this would be my 3rd replacement in a month. I did get an upgrade from my mogul but seriously, I just want a phone that makes me happy, and for 8 bucks of insurance a month, I feel like I should. Just wonder how many times I'll actually get charged and how much of an ordeal it will be to try to clear that up once my next bill comes. Had some trouble with this in the past. Sigh phone providers and sigh at sprint.

Re: UPDATE:Rainbow looking circle

I walked in to the Sprint store yesterday showed the Rep my screen he took my TP back to show the Tech came back less then 2 minutes later and told me my replacement would be available early next week. This is a known issue and Sprint is replacing or repairing the PPC that have this issue. The Rep told me if they would have had the parts available they would have swapped the screen in the store but because they were out of screens I would be getting a replacement.

Re: UPDATE:Rainbow looking circle

My tp has the rainbow circle. But, when I called technical support they tried to offer me a refurbished one, I think they should offer everyone a BNIB.

That's what they wanted to do with mine... bastards I paid for a new one and if it has a issue that is not my fault then I should receive another new one until I am satisfied or I cause damage. You cant just take our new products apart to replace parts. Slider phones never work the same after you open them up.

Re: UPDATE:Rainbow looking circle

MAAAN! I thought I was the only victim lol... Went to sprint to claim this damn smudge and they told me they couldn't exchange it because it was from regular use and that not until the phone started showing "touch-failure", like if the phone would freeze or anything like that. I did notice at times the phone will momentarily freeze for like 10 -15 secs, and told them that it would do that. Only thing they told me was to take it back when the problem was present... Called asurion, and they told me I was out of the 30 day warranty they offer. If I want a new one, I need to pay $50. Aint this about a B*ITCH... I'm goin back to sprint tomorrow, lettin them know other ppl have been getting replacements for this type of problem.

hey guys im going make sony give me a brand new tv bc my satelite stops working sometimes.

and sprint will have no problem fixing this or replacing this phone with the same model...and it isnt a defect more like a design flaw
You're missing the point, it is sprint that is selling you the phone (unless you bought it from HTC direct). Its their deal. If you buy bad milk from a supermarket you dont file a complaint with the cow. Its up to sprint to deal with HTC, not you. Sprint is HTC's customer

I got my phone from verizon, i had to pay their mark up, they are the primary tech support, i will make them replace as many of these as i want out of their pocket until i get one that works, or until they release something of equal or BETTER quality without the issue and make them upgrade me. I dont take **** from 19 CS reps, ill pull a corporate contact card, all day.

Great line! And so true.

I have the smudge, by the way, but it doesn't bother me. I only see it when the phone is off. Plus it's almost fun to play with .

Keep playing with it, maybe the digitizer will stop working and then you will want a new one. Theirs a few people on here that said once this starts the screen stops responding. I didn't wanna take that chance.
