mmm TouchResponse worked great on my Pro. I got addicted to it--badly... I use it on my Vogue now too... it's so amazing... but the reason I installed it on the Pro, was because the sides of the screen were so damn insensitive, that I wanted to know when it even registered my finger-press...

best app ever.

Re: UPDATE:Rainbow looking circle

Are you sure it was TouchResponse? I have never had any issues with it whatsoever.

Best. App. Ever.

Re: UPDATE:Rainbow looking circle

This issue is common for resistive touch screens. That rainbow-colored blotch is caused by keeping it too close to a source of radiation such as a tv or computer monitor, or an area with high levels of interference. I have this problem on my Cowon PMP at the office, but goes away when I go home.

I have never heard that before. But I just did some digging on your info, and many people are saying that CRT Monitors/TVs cause temporary screen discoloration due to magnetic fields.

That's really interesting, actually. Especially considering the screen doesn't act like old CRT monitors do when you put a magnet in front of them

Weird. It must be interfering with the LCD controller or something, because LCDs themselves are unaffected by magnets.

I don't get it... I just did more research and everywhere says that LCD's are immune to magnetic interference. But in the case of the iTouch and iPhone, people are getting distortion from having magnets near the devices.

There's some sort of interference that the type of screens mobile devices have are vulnerable to. Because rare-earth magnets have absolutely no effect on my LCD or phone. [I don't want to keep it there for too long, though.]

Perhaps it's the capactive touchscreen? Are they talking about actually getting distorted colors/images--or just inputs?

That may be true, but the rainbow that is described in this thread is actualy damage (for lack of a better word) As I stated earlier mine finally got bigger and when that happened the touch function of the screen was dead.

Someone also mentioned software as an issue, this is definitely a hardware problem and it will eventually wreck the screen function.

Re: UPDATE:Rainbow looking circle

big diesel pointed me here and i have a XV6800 Mogul and i only got the oil slick after i placed a seidio screen protector on and then talked on the phone for about 15 min. I thought it was oil from my face at first, but it was not. in fact the slick spot expands to about 2 in with the screen protector on and when the screen protector is not on it reduces back to 1 cm. I just got this phone yesterday so it has been in the utmost care possible.

i bought my phone on ebay i'm debating if it's worth asking the seller to invoke her asurion warranty on this. so roundabout.

This is a really interesting issue... So your rainbow issue is with a liquid, not magnetic interference? I'm sure the ebay seller will be able to fix it for you.
