Video cable (AC T110) alternatives

So I was told by expansys when I bought my tv out cables that it usually takes 5 days to ship out. Now they are saying they won't have the item in until the 5th of january.

I've read the do it yourself cable instructions, but I've also seen a few things on ebay that make me go, hmmm.

Take a look at this for example:

The ebay auction shows a mini usb to rca, and it's plugged into the port on the thing that came with the touch pro. He's also got a picture of it working on his TV.

So does this work? Can I simply go out and buy a 3.5mm to RCA or 2.5mm to RCA jack!?
