Re: Remote Desktop options for XP Home users (free)

Logmein is simple. you just use your brower such as opera or pie. all u have to do is download software in your computer.

I use VNC. I'm always wary of 3rd party websites "watching over you" like log-me-in
Or those IM programs that God-only-knows if they steal your passwords

Re: Remote Desktop options for XP Home users (free)

Has anyone been able to get logmein to work with a Verizon phone? I just get bounced back to the start page in Internet Explorer and Opera almost gets in but I can't see the desktop (all the other login fields work). Any ideas?

Works fine on mine but I would rather have a remote app made for WinMo instead of using Opera. Also you can't type anything.

I can't even get to the logmein site in Pocket Internet Explorer so I can't install the plugin.

Use Pocket IE for Logmein

Use DISABLET9.cab to be able to use your keyboard on your remote PC (Disablet9.cab will disable your SYM key on the keyboard, but I don't think most people use it anywayz)

Yes I have the Verzon touch pro... log me in works fine but you can't type anything. It works in Opera too....but again no typing. And what plug in are you installing? It should just work right out...

Re: Remote Desktop options for XP Home users (free)

Thanks for the reply. I tried typing in the address again logmein.com/pda and it worked this time. Weird... I was also having the typing problem but I changed the registry values posted here and it worked.

This is a simple Regedit.
[HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Layouts\e001 0409]
(MS IME mode)
Ime File = \windows\compime.dll
Layout Text = COMP IME

The symbol key doesn't work now though. I think the DISABLET9.cab file igotgame talked about does the same thing but I like to know what I'm changing so I can change it back if I need to.

It would be nice to create a program that would switch the values each time you run it. I would like to have the symbol key back because I use an _ fairly often... Would a program like that be hard to make?
