ok 1st off the carrier does not carry the phone on their network but was able to order one just for him

2nd since the carrier was able to get one "they" "hacked" it to get it working on their network

you know what not to be an ahhhole about this but it does not sound right .... I could be wrong but why would a carrier provide a phone with half-working software just for one customer I seriously doubt that would happen .... unless someone was able to fix him up a rom using the gsm drivers I don't know sounds shady

I bet MobiPCS has a few original HTC Rom versions that they were working on. Perhaps they are in the process of developing their own rom and he got a leaked model.
