I would greatly appreciate it. Right now it is a toss up between the Touch Pro and the Blackberry Curve.
Don't get it. i've heard sprint will be out of business by 2009. Don't get stuck with a useless phone

Re: Thinking of getting HTC Touch Pro

The Sprint Navigation on the TP is a *little* different from one on the Instinct. The Instinct one seems to be dumbed down even further, the TP version looks a little different, has some more options. It does look a little more blurry than the Instinct version, I assume because it's stretching the same resolution image to the TP's larger screen. *I* think the TP version lags behind the Instinct version a tiny bit, but just enough to be noticable. Half second or less. Checking out Tomtom on the TP yesterday, it updates FAST. Seems like every second to Sprint Nav's every 2-3. It lacks Text-to-Speech for the street names, so that's a little kick in the junk, but the update speed and ease of use kind of makes up for it.

And I turned on my Instinct (to clear the memory yesterday) after about 2 weeks of not looking at it, and I threw up a little bit. I can't believe how I used to think it was a somewhat crisp screen. Looking at the contact pictures on the speed dial just made me shake my head and appreciate the TP even more. I couldn't imagine going back to any 240x400 based Samsung screen (Omnia/Behold/Delve/Eternity). The TP's 480x640 screen is absolutely brilliant.

I also miss the Instinct's easy-to-use LiveSearch but the TP version is good enough. Visual Voicemail is another thing I *really* miss but I'm not willing to pay extra for it. That, and the Instinct's OS is absolutely finger-friendly. You *never* need a stylus for anything except for maybe playing games. You'll need the stylus for a lot of stuff on the TP. Typing is much better with the hard keyboard, though. If you're a speedy typer at all and do any messaging/e-mailing, the Instinct and it's crappy autocorrection was a nightmare. The TP is much, much nicer in that aspect.

Re: Thinking of getting HTC Touch Pro

Overall, it comes down to the Touch Pro being more or less the most powerful available Windows Mobile phone. The best part is it's a phone that runs Windows. The worst part is also that it's a phone that runs Windows. It's not flashy, but it will do darned near -anything- you want.

If you've used WinMo before, you know what to expect, just faster (especially with the tweaks found on this forum). If not, it's simply function over form. It has function in spades, but if you can't stand not having the screen slide in every new screen, it isn't for you.

Hopefully this gallery comes true, and I have no doubt the TP will be able to handle it. Until then, I'm willing to trade a little prettiness for a computer in my pocket. http://www.engadget.com/photos/is-th...dows-mobile-7/

Re: Thinking of getting HTC Touch Pro

Thanks everyone for the responses. I really do appreciate it. I know the Pro is out of stock now so I am going to have to wait a while. I will be going to the Sprint store today to play with the demo. Again, thanks to everyone.
