My Phone rocks... the internet speed is quick... about 3 seconds slower than my laptop... that's quick for a phone

No speed problems here. I've been able to get close to 2 mbps tethered. Typical speed on my handset is 500kbps-800kbps. That's pretty good.

 This is what I got from Sprint through WMWifiRouter. Never did a straight tether though. I like it....no complaints here guys.

my touch pro gives speeds of 200-500kbps in the same locations where my 6700 gave 700-1000kbps. I'm really disappointed that I upgrade to a phone with EVDO RevA and it's slower than a phone with EVDO Rev0.
What gives?

I have to agree with the first poster, I have noticed in the last few months, that my speed has been rather slow on the Touch Pro (maybe is the custom ROM). When i first Got My TP i was easily getting 2.2Mbps download and almost 1Mbps upload in the north philadelphia area when tethering. Now, i barely make it to 1Mbps/500Kbps (down/up). I'm not sure what the deal is, but it seems a bit strange to me that this began to happen in the last few months (even in areas where i had full signal on EVDO RevA, now is like 25% less signal).
