Re: Sprint Touch Pro - POOR internet speed?
The reason why it is slower during the day is because there are more users.. Like traffic on a freeway in a sense.. That pay $40 for faster speed is I don't think true at all.. You are still connecting to the same network.. If it is 3G or rev. A, it should be the same speed..Sprint is faster in certain areas and Verizon (or any competitor for that matter) is faster in others.. The quoted speed in advertisments is theoretical and under optimum conditions.. No way to really acheive it unless you build your own private cell tower and restrict access to only you...Please lets just agree to disagree.. If you include Wi-Max, Sprint is fastest right now... And REMEMBER, YOUR RESULTS MAY VARY! lol

Re: Sprint Touch Pro - POOR internet speed?
Tethering your phone works just like a mobile broadband card. I have used both Sprint and Verizon cards. I travel the USA with my job and get various speeds. Sometimes Rev.A in 1X area's and 1X in Rev.A area's. Jim in VA has a very good blog called evdo-tips.com that helps explain why speed vary and other good info about mobile broadband. I suggest those interested take a look.

Try installing the "Telus V1.04.05V Radio R". I'm not sure if this will help with data speed but it definitely increased the signal strength of my Sprint TP. I'm just guessing that with a stronger signal you'd have a better chance at accessing the Rev A network in your area. I could be wrong though. |

This is an updated radio, it can be found here. I believe your phone would need to be unlocked before running this, but all you have to do is connect to your pc through activesync and run the Rom Update Utility from your pc. |

Re: Sprint Touch Pro - POOR internet speed?
Ive had the opportunity to use both Sprint and Verizon networks and just in a general common observation Sprint seemed faster. I can definitely say that verizon is not twice as fast as Sprint. And I can also say that Sprint in general has better data speeds mosts of the time. Since our phones and programs are becoming more data intensive, I would say stay with Sprint to the OP. I travel alot as well and Ive never really had a problem with my Sprint signal. I use a sony tt mini vaio that has an embedded Sprint connection and the data speeds r so reliable with Sprint that i carry that thing around like an extra cell phone. Thats why it seems like Sprint carries alot of major businesses bcuz their data connection really is the best in terms of REAL WORLD USE.

all i have to say is Sprints EVDO coverage is way better then verizons. OVERALL that is. plus if you ever want to get an air card from verizon...they say its unlimited for like 59.99 if you have voice service with them...read the fine print its really only 5GB a month lol.... but that was a little off subject sorry lol

Re: Sprint Touch Pro - POOR internet speed?
Lol, I'm surprised Exil3d hasn't shown up to give his $2 (not 2 cents), on this Sprint vs. Verizon debate.
P.S. Verizon is better!! ![]()
