Hmm, I just purchased it also, but I don't think I'd recommend is as a video player, unless you plan on encoding all your files for it.
I spent months ripping my DVD collection to DivX/AVI, and don't feel like recoding them. I went to Kinoma's forum to see if there was a solution for the poor .avi playback and the only responses customers were getting from "Charles" seem to be vailed accusations of piracy and flat claims that DivX and AVI are only used for illegal content.
Personally, Kinoma w/Orb is great for remote access, but cannot compare to a good DivX encoded file played back on Core Player from my mem card. Until Kinoma realizes customers drive their sales and aren't always crooks, I'd recommend looking elsewhere.
