Odd email error

My email has been working fine, until a couple of days ago, then it would only work if it was connected to my computer through active sync. If I tried without connecting, I got the error "cannot connect to the incoming mail server". Other applications can access the internet without being connected to my computer (although, PIE has been acting up a bit), so I do have an internet connection, it's just that my email doesn't seem to work. I haven't installed anything in a long time either, so there's nothing new that could be messing it up.

I deleted the email on my phone and recreated it, thinking there may be an issue with that, but I got the same error.

Another oddity though, if I start the email send & receive while connected through active sync, then disconnect my phone from the computer, it will still finish the download, it just won't initiate the download without first being connected.

Thanks in advance if you know what's going on.

Any ideas?
