Re: Graphics Performance issues?

What would happen if you had nothing start up with the phone? No voice command, no g-alarm, no task facade, no active sync, nothing. Does performance increase?

What I have noticed on my phone is, no matter how many apps are running, the cpu still chugs along at the same speed. This is an indication that something is acting as a bottleneck, and I'd put my money on the drivers.

Can't you turn G-Alarm off when you want to watch videos? Or change a setting to alter how fast it pings for the time?

Using FDC Task Manager, you can disable the notifications that are thought to be causing it. Then you can reenable them. It's not exacly an easy task but yes, it can be done. Nothing in the settings to change how often it pings. Ageye thinks that notification can be deleted/removed but he's been busy and has not gotten back to me yet about it.\

Re: Graphics Performance issues?

Man, u guys are being too passive IMO. When a company slacks off like this, do u always cut them a break?

This has nothing to do with me being unhappy with this thing, im very pleased with it after upgrading from my mogul, but i recognize that its not performing up to par of older/other devices. Yeah, this isnt ment to be a media device, and wmplayer is the worst player you can use (resource hog...), but if they didnt want any videos to be played THERE WOULD BE NO MEDIA PLAYERS INSTALLED FROM ROM!

I use coreplayer with qtv, and alot of my videos are in qvga format, they stutter terribly. Also, im not the only one with audio skipping, but thats another issue. This device has issues, but its the best i can get (i have to have sprint). There are no other US winmo qwertys new and available so im stuck with this, thats why i have this device.

The sqweeky wheel gets the oil, if htc ever fixes these problems or just makes better devices, it will be because ppl stopped buying them or "wheels" like me. Stop being comlacent with this. Saying that this is a business device is a cope out, it is a multimedia device that is at the upper tier of mobile phones.

Re: Graphics Performance issues?

I agree with Gobmonster.

Companies shouldn't slack like this a second time. All outstanding issues should be addressed BEFORE the product is released.

Re: Graphics Performance issues?

Youre still missing the main point here. No one is disagreeing that the build quality is shoddy on the Pro nor that video could be better.

*side note: my car goes up to 180 but simply being on the speedometer doesnt mean it can phycially hit that, and just because WMPlayer isnt "ideal" doesnt mean that because its there they guaranteed you any specific high performance/quality or framerate either. you cant go sue automaker because your car doesnt get to the 180 mark on the dot, there are limitations as there are with WMPlayer or any software/hardware combo. It may not even be possible to get the desired result on the software/hardware combo, no one even knows that answer either way for sure, just a lot of assumptions that a driver will instantly pop out HD quality video at iphone performance. Im not a complacent hater, simply being logical and realistic here.*

The main point is how long do you beat your head against the wall about it? I want the stock market to go up 2000 points tomorrow but im not going to go picket in front of the NY Stock Exchange or even the White house because its useless and pointless- they really dont care about you to be honest or your protests the gears continue to turn. what is ranting and raving in an internet forum solving? Not a thing I can see, nor has it in the past about this issue. HTC just reported record profits in the billions, do you honestly think they care about a few hundred internet forum junkies whining? Theyre selling millions of phones a quarter so i highly doubt they care.

Its not even that anyone's denying the problem in full in the "you against us here" that youre blowing it up to be- maybe exaggerated a tad on the severity of the issue, but the issue is nothing will come out of getting huffy puffy and bent out of shape about it. If a fix comes it will come, no amount of typing on PPCGeeks yelling and screaming is going to greatly advance that occurrence from actually happening in reality. Sometimes you just do have to deal with it because you have no very very little to no influence over it happening or not, because like you said its the best you can get currently.

Thats bureaucracy and big business for you. And youre again right as ive said before if you dont like it dont buy HTC or return/sell off your current device and give your money to a manufacturer you feel is more capable, but even the loudest screamers about the previous driver issue STILL bought new HTC devices- and yet the viscous cycle continues....

This is not "complacent" or "hating" but simply being logical and realistic is a sea of madness of a lot of talk with no course of real action to make the difference they want to, nor will the minimal effort matter as we have already seen. so why drag yourself through the mud again after last time? This isnt the big "me against all you guys" that you make me out to be, Id love improvements but im realistic as to how to approach the issue as opposed to beating myself up over it ranting and raving in an online forum

G-Alarm seems to be checking the time about every 3-5 min. Maybe sooner but I have not verified this. What happens is that the phone shows a busy state (busy icon). This happens in the background of the video and starts to cause the video to stutter/pause. Eventually the busy icon pokes through the video, then goes away. During all other times, the video is smooth. It's just during certain times this will happen. It's been confirmed in Juggalo's rom thread by several people. G-Alarm's creater is looking into this.

So just to make this clear, having G-alarm installed will not cause your videos to stutter or lag the whole time you are watching a video. This is something that only happens occasionally.
I haven't seen this issue. Stock Sprint ROM.

Re: Graphics Performance issues?

So, i got my replacement tp today and off rip, i loaded up a video on the thing to see if it was any different... using only winmo, video played better...

Anyways, i decided to install my first custom rom (jugs 32mb). After that, i went to get the coreplayer update (1.3)... Amazingly enough, ive been testing out video performance and it is WAY better than my last TP. Ive been throwing videos at it all morning, 400+mbs, it has handled them all!

Im starting to believe that the poor video on my last device was either a bad stock rom or a bad device. I get very limited stuttering now. Its noticeable that i am watching from a phone, but its very good video... To all those ive been arguing with, understand that all touchpros do not perform alike!
