Quick GPS Download Problems???

Funny that this program is dependant on the 911 / My Location being turned on. I've been trying to figure out for months why my TP drains a battery twice as fast as my OL's TP. I FINALLY went through, setting by setting, and figured out that by turning off the My Location, my TP now will run all freaking day on a full charge instead of 3 to 4 hours!
What a revelation!
It would seem that the writer of QuickGPS would figure a different way to download the data without needing this setting turned on.

I feel pretty stupid, here; my location setting is on but when I try to dl the satellite info thru quick gps it downloads and then says it couldn't get a fix because locaiton needs to be turned on, location & htc location service are both turned on. Is there more than one place to turn location on or off? Do I need to suck it up and hard reset? I really want my gps to work again. Any help is appreciated, my last fix was 8-10-10 and I have been messing with it ever since.

update, tech support says hard reset & if it still doesn't work to go to a sprint repair center. she also said gps is not necessarily included in my service, isn't that kind.
