Re: Setup ICS to work for VZW Touch Pro

The easier solution...

WMWIFI version 0.91 is free for personal use. It worked great!

Install the ICS cab attached in this thread and install WMWIFI..no config needed. Launch, lock and load baby!

Re: Setup ICS to work for VZW Touch Pro

I have the tp w/ verizon. I cannot install ICSInstall.cab. it says it is not digitally signed with a trusted certificate. I am trying to get wmwifirouter to work. Everything connects but only locally.

So does almost every cap file. Just ignore that and install it anyways.

Re: Setup ICS to work for VZW Touch Pro

When i open ICS and click connect, it says "Cannot connect for an unknown reason. To change your connection settings, tap settings".

I also cant get WMWifiRouter to work either. it seems to connect fine, but i cant get on the web from my laptop.

I am using a sprint touch pro with verizon software if it matters. I am also using a usb cable, not BT.

Re: Setup ICS to work for VZW Touch Pro

I installed the ICS cab, and it appeared to install successfully. However, when I start it, it only offers me connections with USB or Bluetooth (PAN). No WiFi even when WiFi is 'on'.

Is that normal?

Re: Setup ICS to work for VZW Touch Pro

Well, this is a bonus for the VZ crowd....

Tested speeds: USB 1.1 - DL 347 /UL 87...
BT PAN: DL 777 / UL 65

No speed demon but I can at least get to my stuff online if needed in an emergency.

Wireless G: 9893/930

Re: Setup ICS to work for VZW Touch Pro

Awesome. Worked perfectly on my 6850. Why doesn't Verizon just leave this enabled? We paid enough for this device.

Thanks for the info!

Re: Setup ICS to work for VZW Touch Pro

I installed the ICS cab fine, and was able to remove "dun." from DUN NAI, when I connect my PC (tried WMWifiRouter and IntShrUI w/BT PAN) it connects just fine, but the network is listed as local-only, no internet access

Any ideas? on a vzw htc touch pro of course..
