I'll have to try a hard reset and cancel the verizon cabs during setup...maybe that will help..i'll let you know when i do it

Just to be sure im not confusing anyone... the OP instructions were NOT working for me.
I assumed it was because when i first set up the phone i did not let the Verizon cabs install

I did a hard reset, let them install this time, and now the OP instructions work fine

If anyone disabled the HTC Dialer Skin and the ##778 doesnt work. Re-enable the Dialer Skin and try again that will do the trick.

OP instructions worked perfectly. Thanks! Now I can use TP as modem when no LAN or WAN is available without loading VZAccess Manager on my laptop.

The easier solution...

WMWIFI version 0.91 is free for personal use. It worked great!

Install the ICS cab attached in this thread and install WMWIFI..no config needed. Launch, lock and load baby!

I have the tp w/ verizon. I cannot install ICSInstall.cab. it says it is not digitally signed with a trusted certificate. I am trying to get wmwifirouter to work. Everything connects but only locally.

So does almost every cap file. Just ignore that and install it anyways.

When i open ICS and click connect, it says "Cannot connect for an unknown reason. To change your connection settings, tap settings".

I also cant get WMWifiRouter to work either. it seems to connect fine, but i cant get on the web from my laptop.

I am using a sprint touch pro with verizon software if it matters. I am also using a usb cable, not BT.
