Re: A $1.48 goes a long way... Black Battery Cover!
if you know the right people at your local sprint store you can just ask for an extra one... that's free. worked for me a few days ago. when they return phones to the warehouse, they only return the handset, all other parts: stylus, battery, battery cover, cords ect are kept by the store if it has a repair center. Got that straight from the manager of the flagship store in my area...

before i buffed mine after i had taken it out of the pot and let it cool down and dry... i thought that the bottom of the pot had scratched my cover... it was shiny all over and you could clearly see what looked like 'scratches'... i missed that it had been mentioned somewhere earlier in this thread to buff it. but i had noticed after about an hour of handling that the left and right sides of my cover looked the way i expected but the rest of the bottom did not... so i started wiping it on my jeans (luckily they were black lol) and it removed the 'shine' and revealed the proper texture and matte black color i was expecting to see... just DONT FORGET TO BUFF. |

I think only if you scratch it deep enough will it show scratch since it's a lighter plastic under neath

Re: A $1.48 goes a long way... Black Battery Cover!
sweet, ill have to try and get a spare cover from a repair shop...i wonder whatll happen if i dip my old mogul into the dye, i guess the electronics wouldnt like the hot water lol, but an all black mogul would probably look way better than the stock gray lol

Re: A $1.48 goes a long way... Black Battery Cover!
Here are the instructions I posted over in the Diamond thread... i tried to combine all of the various suggestions into one complete walkthru... again credit goes to XWEAPONX first... i'll only take credit for the stylus idea lol
I can vouch that this works PERFECTLY for Diamonds... did mine 2 hours ago and I'm in absolute awe of how sexy my phone is now... all for $1.62!!!!! All it takes is a decent sized pot (stainless steel prefered), filled with water Set the stove to medium heat, NOT BOILING. Pour in dye and allow it to dissolve wash the cover with soap and water to remove any dirt or oil ect drop in the cover and stylus(s) set timer for 15 minutes and stir gently after 15 mins pull it out gently with tongs or a plastic utensil (metal will prolly scratch cover) after it cools and dries buff it with a dark piece of denim you now have a perfectly black cover and stylus(s)! enjoy. all credit goes to XWEAPONX for trying this first on his back cover... (dying the stylus was my idea...albeit too late for myself lol) No fading, no ruboff on your hands, no blackening of the camera cover area whatsoever. Mild smell of dye once done, this will subside over time... Pictures of how it turned out here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...&postcount=101 Thank me now... lol |
