Re: How to back up contacts??
Wait a minute!!!! +1 for SPB,SPRITE,PIMBACK UP....but note, copying the PIM file ,saving it to the sd card works perfectly. When I got the TP, I just grabbed it and dropped it on the TP, all was good. So it is definitely an alternative ....

Re: How to back up contacts??
didnt t mean to confuse you man. I had a Mogul before the TP. So I had copied the pim file from the Mogul to the SD card. Once I got the TP, I just took the pim file using Resco explorer from the SD and dropped it on the TP. I got a prompt if I wanted to overwrite, clicked yes and Bam my contacts appeared. That was that.....

Re: How to back up contacts??
+1 for just backing up your pim.vol file in the root.
I've had the same pim for a LONG time. created when I got my 6700, and carried it through now. Its saves more than just contacts though. Saves calender items, and the pictures that you have assigned to your contacts. VERY good to keep it handy on an SD card. Only because my contacts are SO important to me, I keep a spare on a rewritable CD. Though, the Dashwire app is super nice and will definitly be using that as another backup solution. |

Re: How to back up contacts??
I like keeping a copy of the PIM.vol file myself. I've noticed that it even saves your favorite people in TF3D and the call history too. Plus it's free. What I've been doing is: change the name of the current PIM.vol file on the touch pro to something else, for example OldPIM.vol, and then put your backed up PIM.vol file into the root directory, soft reset and you're all good. Just go back and delete "OldPIM.vol".

Re: How to back up contacts??
When you have your TP connected to your PC via ActiveSync or WMDC, you can copy the PIM file to your PC pretty easily. To restore, simply rename the empty PIM file when you flash or hard reset, then copy/paste your previous PIM file to the root directory. Soft reset, and you're all done! I find this is easier.

Re: How to back up contacts??
I also use pim backup. I have like 4,000 messages that it has backed up for me, id hate to lose any of em for no reason. Its quick and easy, and best of all free and secure.
