Re: Anyone's Touch Pro have lots of "Wiggle" in the closed position?

Build date isn't going to amount to a hill of beans if they don't update the hardware revision along with it (Start > Settings > System > Device Info). At least with a new revision, it would mean they actually changed something in the build process to resolve a specific defect. Mine is revision 2, build date 10/26, for what it's worth.

The wiggle is definitely noticeable and it's starting to become really aggravating on mine (just started a couple weeks ago), although I admit it's the ONLY hardware-related problem I have with mine.

My TP (build date 11/21, revision 2) has a very large amount of wiggle between the screen and keyboard, but never overheats when charging (doesn't really even get warm), and only gets warm when doing intensive things for a long time (YouTube, etc.). I guess it varies on a case-by-case basis.

That's not entirely true when it comes to things like wiggle. You're right that things like overheating and such will probably need a design or build process change. But when it comes to physical defects, I think what we're seeing is a manufacturing process that is not setup with tight tolerances, and quality control that isn't rejecting devices that aren't as tightly put together as many of us (myself included) would like. For that, I think it is possible to eventually find one that meets your standards, even if they don't do an official hardware revision.

I'd say the wiggle has noticeably increased since the last month. It's a tad annoying, but I hope it won't fall apart.

You have a good point but only if you're assuming that the "wiggle" is just a matter of tightening a couple screws and quality control checking.

I'm not ruling out that possibility (and would prefer that to be the case), but given the large volume and the fact mine started out "perfect" and has only started becoming a problem, that to me makes it more of a hardware issue than a QCC issue.

Re: Anyone's Touch Pro have lots of "Wiggle" in the closed position?

My build date is 2/09... and the wiggle is kinda annoying. I didn't have tbis much play with the 6600 or 6700. I have only had this phone 2 weeks.

The wiggle on mine has been so bad the past few months that I've given serious thought to going back to my Mogul, lol.

Well, I don't know if its the placebo effect, but after going into my phone to color the LEDs, I tightened all the screws ALOT and it seems its much less wiggly!

Re: Anyone's Touch Pro have lots of "Wiggle" in the closed position?

My TP has always had a lot of "wiggle" - I have to slide the phone open by pushing the exact center of the side. If I press the corners, the phone won't slide open - the corner will just push up to the point where it almost exposes an entire key on the keyboard. I feel like I'm going to break it.

Anyways, a little play is actually better - less chance of getting stuck and forcing something open a little too hard. My mogul has so much play that when I close it, the top actually slides a little too far and hangs over the bottom.
gearjunkeez, if you have insurance for your phone, take it to the sprint store and they'll replace the unit at no cost. I'm on my 3rd mogul for this reason. If you open the slider & look at the back of the touch-screen side, you should see a screw on the bottom of the phone (nearest to the opposite side of the "talk" silver button). You should have a little grey plastic "stopper" about a millimeter long & half millimeter wide about 2mm left & up of that screw but it sounds like your stopper got messed up and that's what causes your Mogul's screen to rest off-center now.
If you don't have insurance, call & get it, wait the 2weeks (or whatever the minimum claims time is) & go get you a new phone. Hopefully you'll get a Touch Pro!
