maybe they felt they were doing us a favor by shutting certain things off when we turn off our screens.. sorta like a quick stop. That would explain why it's enabled with headphones.
When i'm wanting to turn the screen off or put it in my pocket i'm always using headphones or have it connected to my car stereo or house stereo, so luckily it doesn't mess with my usage... can't say the same for anyone using it as a poorman's radio. Sucks for them :/
At first, before I heard it worked fine with the headphones, i started to freak out haha... that would have been my first real complaint with the phone

I am interested to see if someone could somehow come up with a fix for musictab to use one of our other music players.. that would be sweet
ok well this is through speaker. it cuts all my soundd off withevery media player. i will see if i can find this s2u and see what that is. its odd that if you let it shut itself off it still plays but if you shut it off it sll stops.. very snnoying

s2u2 is a locking app (recommended), but s2p is what you're looking for... here: http://s2u2.eqvipage.dk/S2P-index.html
Both s2u2 and s2p are there... they both work together too, so you can lock your phone but still control the music

Re: Listening to music with display off

OK I hope this helps someone, this how I fixed it on my mogul. Using Windows Media Player,
Go into Menu and go to Options,
Go to the Buttons Option, and under Toggle Screen, you can set whatever button you want to use to cut off the screen.
I used Enter, the center button.
Works great for me. Hope this helps someone.

Re: Listening to music with display off

Im not a Touch Pro user (yet), but in WMP on my vogue you can designate a button that will shut the screen off without cutting out the music.

try this:
Open WMP
Menu
Options
Buttons
Toggle Screen - assign a button (camera button in my case)

When WMP is playing and on the screen, say with Sirius, I hit the camera button and the screen shuts off but the music still plays.

It may not be the same for the TP, but give it a try, I hope this helps.

Does indeed, good to know! Too bad I almost never use WMP...

Re: Listening to music with display off

Have u guys tried to set your options. In most of these media players there should be an option to keep playing when the backlight is turned off. Go through your individual media player settings and enable the option to play with backlight off. This should fix the problem

If you can find ANY "Options" or settings tab in the Touch Flo music tab on the Sprint Touch Pro...I would like to know where it is?

I did notice something that was mentioned in another thread, that might explain why it only seems to do this "Sometimes" then the problem seems to magically fix itself...
When my Touch Pro is Fully charged, with my TP "Wired" earphones plugged in, and using the music tab player, I can hit the power button and shut off the screen....BUT, when my charge goes down to about 3/4 charge or less, when I try to hit the power to shut off the screen, it shuts down the music...as soon as I plug the phone in, or, change to a fresh battery it works right again!
This must be some kind of battery saving feature, which in my opinion is crazy, because these phone's chew up batteries so quick that you are down to 3/4 charge in no time! Also, if you have to leave the backlight on while listening to your music, that just chews up the bat quicker, so if it is a bat saving feature, it seems counter productive to me!
Let me know if, any others experiances are the same in regards to the battery level + music shutting down with power button.
Thanks,
0Gravity
