Re: Who is tired of TF3D and are not using it anymore?
I just installed HTC home and phone alarm and it seems very user friendly and fast to get to important things. No more going to txt messages and then pressing all messages to get to the list and same for emails.

Re: Who is tired of TF3D and are not using it anymore?
I got rid of TF3D and replaced it with SPB Mobile Shell, which someone here recommended. I'd neve rheard of it before, but it's amazing. It's just as pretty and finger-friendly as TF3D but far more customizable. That plus Thumbcal and AE Button all make WinMo much easier to use with fingers, even easier than TF3D alone, I think.
The only thing I miss is the weather app. Actually, it is my 2 year old son who misses it. Everyday while getting dressed we'd check on "Mr. Sun" to see whether he needed a long sleeve shirt or not, but now I don't have Mr. Sun anymore. I wish I could find a pretty, VGA, current weather app to replace it, for my son's sun's sake. |

Just install SPB weather and then install windows field revisited VGA (do a google search) skin for mobile shell and you will have pretty weather very similar to TF3d and a much better looking mobile shell.

I tried to like it (I did like the touch cube on on sprint touch) but I found it to be too much eye candy and not enough usability. I use SPB Pocket Plus for the tabbed today screen and the oldschool tabs on pocket internet explorer, along with SPB Phone Suite for a photo dialer. I love the small icon view with TONS of icons plus lots of room on the bottom for my up coming calendar schedule. A function packed today screen, I am just thankful for my laser vision correction.

Re: Who is tired of TF3D and are not using it anymore?
I like tf3d.. i took the sprint tv tab out though because i have slingbox mobile. I'm thinking of taking the programs tab out as well because I have Mobile Shell as my right soft key in both secondtoday and tf3d... tf3d + mobile shell = ultimate setup for finger friendly madness. I like the email/text tabs in touchflo because it lets you see if it's worth reading without having to open up the messages menu. Plus, after being with a mogul for over a year, i'm loving the tf3d animations and its eyecandy qualities (slider, weather, etc). For those that are only using tf3d and find it lacking in usability, you should look into assigning one of your homescreen soft keys with another touch friendly interface for easy access....

However with stuff like Android (I have to mention it since I switched to the G1 and love the GUI), the iPhone and cell phones in general, Palm and Windows Media interfaces are going to be difficult for most people. Most people want to interact with their phone as if it were a phone. Or at the worst a PDA. Not as if it were a desktop operating system complete with a control panel and file explorer. Microsoft would do well to find a company to help them streamline the Windows Mobile experience into something recognizable, but more in the direction of TouchFlo 3D. Even though my machine was slow, I really liked TouchFlo 3D. I feel like it did a good job of aggragating everything I cared about most on a smartphone onto a few simple tabs and from which I could navigate with a few clicks here and there. It's definitely a step in the right direction. The problem is the rough edges. You dig just below the surface and suddenly you're looking at ok and x buttons in the corner, scrollbars, etc. Suddenly it's Windows on a tiny screen. Some may love that, but for me I'd like the combination of the power of Windows coupled with a completely different user experience on a phone. I think it's more than eye candy. It's a necessary evolution for WinMo. |

Re: Who is tired of TF3D and are not using it anymore?
Well I don't understand why when you lock the screen and then slide the keyboard out, that unlocks the phone. Does anyone knows how to lock the screen while using the tf3d and not worry about the phone unlocking by itself? I own a mogul too and I use the spb plus program and it flows pretty good for me. I get to lock the screen instead of using the password lock which becomes annoying after several times of usage. I'm trying this method with the TP because the today screen is live and any movement with the phone can unlock the screen. I use the long press end call button option to lock the screen but that doesn't do anything when the keyboard slides out. Can someone give me a solution if they have one or a cab file that simulates slide2lock or G1 lock for the TP. Thanx
