Re: GPS not working in Google Maps or Live Search

Your theory is correct, you gotta try it before you restore, I am looking into the settings....

Good move on acquiring SPB

I also agree, you want to check your GPS operation before your restore after a hard reset, cause all you doing when you restore is implementing the problem right back into the device.

Also once you recheck the location is "on" and your internet access is fine again, try the "Quick GPS" to see if you can connect to the GPS unit.

Re: GPS not working in Google Maps or Live Search

I'll try the hard reset tonight and test the GPS. Next question is:

If the GPS program works after a H reset and before a backup restore, Does the backup program allow me to only install some of my programs, contacts and email to see what I can get back without causing the GPS problem I had to begin with? Thanks.

Re: GPS not working in Google Maps or Live Search

My GPS is working, but I have a related question - with MSN Live Search, is there any way to force it to ALWAYS use your current location for a search? If you go to maps, you can say 'center on GPS' but if you are searching for gas stations, you have to update the GPS location first. But then it asks if you want to overwrite it... Seems like it should be easier.

Re: GPS not working in Google Maps or Live Search

Thanks everyone who helped me. After a Hard restart, I confirmed GPS is working with LS and GM. I did a restore of only my email and contacts. Then just reinstalled the other software I had. Tested GPS again and all is well. Now I can backup fully my uncorrupted device. Thanks.
