Annoying text message notification during call

Ya I have the same problem and its SO annoying! I wish there was a subtle beep through the headset while you're on a call and not the SMS alert going off from the speaker.

Mine plays the normal ring tone associated with the text/email, whatever that came in while on the phone. What I would like to know is, is there anyone's phone that this does NOT happen to. This is not normal behavior for a phone, at least non of the phones I have ever owned, and I have found no setting to turn this off.

Mine seems to play the same tone 3 times in quick succession. And the tone is plays is NOT my SMS tone!

I get alot of text messages per day and its one of the most irritating things you can hear! Pretty embarassing if you ask me. Glad the person on the other end can't hear it! But I really dropped the ball because when I first got my touch Pro I was all excited to be able to assign ring tones and text alerts so I used my MP3 Trimmer to edit a T.I. song to use as my text message alert and the song was about 20 seconds long. It was cool to hear it play when I got a text, but then when I was on the phone it went off and I lost so much conversation because all I could hear was this T.I. song killing my conversation. I had to tell the other person I would call them back later after I fix my phone. So I had to go and switch my text tone to the shortest one possible. This is horrible and there HAS to be some way to fix this

By the way... The Diamond has this problem too.

No problem for me. Coming from Nextel for so long, I am still amazed that you can send/receive texts while on a call!

This is happening to me also but i did have it happen to me when i had my mogul also. I thought it had something to do with bluetooth or an applicatin that i had loaded but it still does it with nothing loaded....it would be great to find a fix for this

Don't have this problem anymore with phonealarm lite, as I posted above. Try the demo to see if that fixes your problem.

Im sure this would fix the problem, but we should not have to install yet another app (which uses up even move battery/memory) in order to have this fixed. Plain and simple, the phone should not do this, no matter what. I did some testing lastnight, and if the volume is turned all the way up for the system, it plays the text ringtone full volume, which feels wonderful in my ear. I will try this program, and it may be the only solution, I was hoping htc would realize this as a flaw and release a patch for it. But if what everyone else is saying, this has been a problem with the past htc devices, then it wont be fixed.

Choose event: Messaging: new text messages
UNCHECK THE BOX THAT SAYS PLAY SOUND

PRESTO
