TP Locking Up Overnight

Heh the Pro would lock up without an alarm set at all...

I have this problem also. Having just found this thread I thought I'd try the charge it while awake and recharge it in the morning approach. So - I opened the keyboard (another suggestion) and plugged it in. This time it locked up after 3 minutes! Wasn't hot, but it did a steady minor vibrate thing. Soft reset worked. Anyone know if this is related to the ROM version that I'm using (1.03.651.3 - dated 9/12/0

? Just a thought, but has anyone related this behavior to the degree the battery is charged when it is plugged in? Lately (the most freezing happening) my phone has been pretty much fully charged when I plug it in.

Yeah that's when it was happening to me, too. It hasn't happened at all on my latest pro.

It doesn't need an alarm set to lock up - when you install G-Alarm it will detect if your device has the WinMo lock-up bug and will fix it if you say yes to it.

It just comes with G-Alarm :P

I've tested it now for a few months and 0 lock-ups.

I think that's a coincedence. As far as I can tell, the G-Alarm (lockup bug,) was something that originally affected G-Alarm, and not in general.

Once I returned to my Vogue, I installed G-Alarm, (awesome app,) and it said it needed to fix the alarm bug. My phone has never frozen over night, ever since I upgraded to 6.1. The stock ROM on the Vogue was just as bad as the TP. Actually even the third-party ROMs crash on the Pro, but I haven't played with it in a few months.

Well considering I was getting lock-ups weekly until I installed the fix, I find it hard to believe it's just a coincidence, but maybe you are right. Either way I am loving a non-locking up phone.

I have not gotten a lock up in a few weeks, and BAM, froze overnight. I guess we are never going to see a fix for this, are we? If I call sprint and *****, will that result in anyhting?

I called sprint. All they said they could do is make an appointment for me at the nearest service center. If there is a problem, they will just replace the phone w/ a refurb.

I installed G-Alarm today, said yes to the "fix the bug?" question. Then plugged in and it froze in less than a minute. Now, here's a new one: when I plug it in via USB to wall plug - NO FREEZE!. Plug it in via USB to PC - FREEZE!. Anyone think this may mean it's a USB voltage thing? Next to try various ports and hub ports on the PC - and another PC...
