Voice Annoucement of Incoming Call- A New Wrinkle?

I just received a call while I was entering text into a PWord document and lo and behold, I got the annoucement of the number of the incoming call through my headset.

Does this give anyone any clue as to what this thing is doing and why it doesn't work the way it should?

That thing announces arrival of text messages/emails and read subjects nicely on the Jawbone 2, dunno about incoming calls yet...

I'm using an original Jawbone and I get the announcements for texts and emails but not incoming calls. Not until this incident, anyway.

There is a reg fix that makes everything work as it should.

I think he is referring to the "very low volume" fix where the ringtone you have selected stops playing after 1 ring , and then the call is announced at an extremely low volume. It's the 1st post of page 4 or page 5 of a different VC thread here. I'll look and try to post a link.

HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\TTSAnnounce\Script: change as5p to v0p (for vibrate and ring) or p (for ring only)

With this change, the ringtone will start - and then be interrupted with the calller ID/name announcement. (Assuming that call announcement has been enabled in Voice Command).

Only major flaw with this solution is that the announcement volume is low.

Yeah, I knew about that but didn't consider it to be a true "fix" because of the low volume. When my incident happened, the announcement was at full volume.
