Stopped by my local alltel today. held an alltel touch pro in my hand. local store has 5 in stock, but they can't sell them until thursday morning (the 20th) so it looks like w0die was right.

With a web order, is it just a matter of *228 to activate? For you folks that got your Diamond via the web, about how long did it take to receive it?

Alltel nav is a primer for the GPS we all know there are ways around that. Csper why not just get it in store?

Yeah, hehe, I was joking about the GPS.

Going to be out of town this weekend and then next week looks bad for time. Might find a chance to get to a store though. Given that, I thought I might get it in about the same amount of time without the hassle of going to the store.

UPDATE!
I just got a call from my local Alltel sales rep and he said FRIDAY morning they will be able to sell them. He has 6 of them in stock right now but they will not be in the computer till the morning of the 21st. Just a heads up.

Well, the store in my area has them now, has put my name on one of the boxes with an ink pen, and told me that they will be glad to hold it for me till I get there tomorrow ( 11/20/08 ) and pick it up. So you can wait till the 21st if you want to, but I can't, and refuse to do so.

lenny wants to get hacking on that TP.. LOL.. Im going to have to wait for a month or so before i can get mine.

There is no primer required to initiate the GPS. I'm running Garmin XT and it loads right up. 3D Lock in around ~5 seconds if I'm outdoors.

Anyone know where I can buy the original back? The real back not the crappy Sprint or Alltel back, the one thats shaped like Diamonds
