Phone Keypad SIP

Is there a way to make the phone keypad default to t9? I have sip changed installed, but it seems to resort back to abc. I might stop using it anyways if I can't figure out how to change the preferences for the dictionary.

My biggest complain is trying to type "you". When I try to type this using the phone keypad and t9, "wmt" is the first option. How can I delete wmt or make "you" first?

The dictionary is much better.

Install SipChange and it should allow you to set the default SIP.

I haven't tried this on the Touch Pro yet, but it worked great on the Mogul, Touch, and Tilt.

sip change works fine. the problem is that whatever sip i choose, it doesnt stay on t9.

Did you use the "Old School Word Correction" hacks? If so, then you're going to be out of luck. If not, I'm not sure why it doesn't just remember what it was set on last, since that's how it has behaved for me.

There is a way to do this. I know this is an old thread, but I was looking for the same thing and I found it!!

Install the attached cab, or just edit the following in your registry:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Tegic\eT9\IME

under CarrierDefaultTextMode, change the value to 1, and under DefaultInputModule, change that value to 1 also. This cab just does it for you. Hope this helps someone
