check your start/settings/system "Key Lock" and check..."do not lock buttons"...when device is "off"
This might be your problem.

i actually thought of doing that, but i do want buttons to lock when device is "off"...
on my old ppc6800, it locks buttons when device is off, but when i initiate WMP's "Toggle Screen", it locks all buttons except those which were specifically assigned to wmp control functions, and keeps it that way until i "Toggle Screen" back on... it seemed as if on my touch pro there is some other function that overrides wmp's "toggle screen" and completely disables ALL buttons (xcept power buttton of course) ~40 seconds after "toggle screen" is initiated. Here is what I do. Once music or streaming audio is playing, I hit the "home" button. Then I hit the power button. Music keeps playing.
