Actually with IMAP on the TP, they do get deleted from the Gmail server. I have confirmed this with multiple emails that I have deleted from my TP, that have completely disappeared from the Gmail server. They're not marked as deleted, and they're not in the trash. They are completed gone from the server.

Thank you! This worked like a charm!

Look for a label in your G-Mail called "Deleted Items" I assure you they are not gone!

Re: How to set up POP instead of IMAP?

Just a warning, for yahoo mail, the default automated imap setup is not encrypted, even for your password! You need to type in some weird stuff to invoke the manual setup with pop3 instead, so at least your password is encrypted. Shame on yahoo for their laziness and stupidity as I have to work around it because ATT DSL emails are through yahoo.
