Area code problem?

Okay, I am trying to add contacts to my phonebook on the phone. When I get down to the Mobile or Home number the area code is different than the one thats my local code. Is there a way to change this? Before I hard reset it, my local area code came up but now 425 comes up. Anyway to change it and make it default?
