If you're talking about Touchpal you can get a trial version. After it expires, it is limited function. Check the site for more info. www.cootek.com.

I'm having the same problem with my Alltel Touch Pro on stock rom. Just got the phone yesterday and haven't installed SIPchange yet but it worked fine without it on my vogue and it kinda bugs me that the TP would need extra software to make it default.

Also, I have noticed that typing with TouchPal the phone will freeze up sometimes, its very annoying. I think some of you were mentioning that too, mine seems to do it when its suggesting words mostly.

is there a way to disable t9 or autocomplete setting in landscape using touchpal. i tried changing the input setting but it didn't help.

I use PhoneAlarm and it has a feature to select the default keyboard. It works perfect when I select TouchPal, even after a reset. It's under the advanced options if anyone needs to know.

i just got my tp and i loved the touchpal on my mogul i rarely ever used my keybut on my tp the touchpal will come board up and i can select it but it very small same for the htc picture view cab and the contacts cab anyone know any fixes for these problem?
