Battery drain problem possibly found?

I noticed that sometimes even when you power down to put the unit in standby, the screen itself blacks out, but the backlight is still on. It's a random occurrence, and by the time I turn my device on, 50% battery life gone. Anyone else notice this issue and/or have a workaround for it?

Re: Battery drain problem possibly found?

This happened with my mogul a couple times. Its hard to explain but basically think of it as instead of cutting off, the screen displays image thats all black. Literally, the backlight will still be on, but there wont be anything to look at.

I havent had this happen on the pro and my battery life still sucks, so this is not the problem. Any ways, i have s2u2 on my phone with lock on wake so even if it did this it would just cut off anyways.

Next time it happens, I will. Usually happens when I'm not even paying attention to it (when its on the belt clip). I can't pinpoint exactly when or how it happens, just know there is a rapid battery discharge with the backlight on and the only way to get rid of it is a soft reset.

This would also happen to my Mogul. The battery would drain like crazy. Soft reset only stopped it.

Re: Battery drain problem possibly found?

Ive had it happen on the ole Mogul and actually my girl had it happen on her Diamond once or twice. After custom roms on the mogul it never happened again... so we might just have to wait for a nice custom.

Here's a twist, sometimes the light for the four buttons around the DPAD stay on even when I turn off the unit. The only turn these lights off, is to turn on the unit, hit one of the buttons, then turn the unit off.

I've had this happen too. The TP went to standby, the screen went completely dark but the hard buttons stayed illuminated.

Re: Battery drain problem possibly found?

Three days ago mine did that. The backlight would stay on but the screen would blacken. Only a soft reset made it stop.
