Making sure phone calls ALWAYS get through

Hi, I've noticed a few times when using one of the data applications that phone calls have been missed. Oddly enough when I test it the calls interrupt the net or whatever, but not when other people are actually calling me.

On my old phone there was a setting (obscure) to make sure data use was always interrupted - is there some setting I missed or hack on the TP to guarantee this? Thanks.
