Keep in mind that some people may not notice the lag as much as others. Sometimes it just doesn't lag

Re: MapQuest Navigator 5.0

Right Esqu, my right /left turns were showing on my TP screen within 15 -25 feet I do not expect my gps to be 100% accurate, there is just no way unless the military/Navy let us use one of their satelites and technology. I will be checking out Mapquest shortly, btw Sprint Nav didnt show any noticeable lag either when I used it.

Most people have notice it (here and over at xda), a lag of about 50 meters, wich when traveling at high speeds (60-70mph) is a pretty big lag.
My mogul never had this lag.

Understood, I am just comparing it to the mogul. 15 - 25 feet is well into acceptable range. Many of us are having as bad as half a block which is where the problem occurs.

My quick opinion. The program isn't nearly as cpu intensive as Igo8 or oncourse 2008. It seems that there are lots of options. It loads up quick and finds satellites fast.

Cons as of now. Navigating the menu can be quite annoying at the on-screen keyboard pops up everytime you go to another section. Moving from street name to city to zip etc.. I will most likely use null keyboard when using this program. The other slight annoying issue is when browsing he menu is the lack of a scroll bar. The only way the screen scrolls is when you have selected the bottom item and continue on that direction.

I will drive somewhere to pick up breakfast and tell of how it preforms. Sorry for the kinda long post.

Can't find the area through poi so from that I'd say that the POI is kinda lacking or needs updating. The poi's that it do find have no contact info.

Am I the only person who has Sprint Nav for free as part of their Vision Plan?

Re: MapQuest Navigator 5.0

Yeah Mapquest is by no mean perfect, navigating the menu takes some getting use to, I notice that the touch screen menu has been improved a bit. Other than that I am ok with it, I did use a bit this morning and it was on target as far as signaling turns within the 25 feet range or so, sometimes the arrow was right on the turn when I was turning so that was cool. I only use Night mode with it and that works for me, also I noticed the announcement are louder than the Mogul....we'l keep looking man. POI are up to par, and they get good reviews...This was just released today so they may have to do couple enhancement.
