auto area code

I was wondering if I can add automatically an area code for the area I am in to all #s dialed.

On my palm treo I never had to dial the area code I programed. Only the ones Out of my area.

Also when out of state calls come in, is there a way to know what state they are coming from?

Thanks in advance.

Re: auto area code

I have that already on my area code. I was wondering about when I dial a phone # on my treo I never had to put my area code in as long as it was the area code I had programed. On this you always have to add the area code to ever phone call.

Re: auto area code

It must be where you are located because I have never had to put in the area code.

Re: auto area code

it almost sounds like you were not set up in your home area code. If you have a number specific to your area you should not have to dial the AC.

Re: auto area code

my area code is 248. On my treo there was an option to always dial your area code automatically so when I used to dial a # I used to just dial the 7 digits. Now I always have to dial the correct area code when dialing a phone #.

Re: auto area code

I'm pretty sure you can input this in the programing. You have to get your MSL though to make changes to the programing

Pre set area code

Is there a function where you can preset an area code when using your phone. My number is origianlly from another state and I had dialing the area code for making local calls. I remember having this on all my treo's, does htc support that function?

Re: Pre set area code

If you open your contacts area/screen go to options
and there is an area for entering an area code.
Most people have just started saving the full 10
digit number as this is becoming the norm due to
the abundance of users. Here in Houston, we have 3
area codes within city limits.

Re: Pre set area code

What I ment was, I need to dial local numbers "not in my contacts". My other windows mobile phones had an option to set a predefined area that will automatically dial the area when entering a number different from my area code.
