Email count on TF3d screen

I am running a Sprint TP2 with MM's latest 01-20-2010 ROM. I love the idea that if I use TF3D to scroll over to me texts and use the TF3D interface to view them, the notification count clears, to show I have read it. Anyone else have the same problem I have, of the Email Notifications NOT doing the same thing? You have to actually go into your inbox and read them, or mark them read for the notificatons to go away.
