Connect to work servers remotely from TP... what VPN can I use?

Our company uses a CISCO VPN. While I know the iPhone has a CISCO VPN client, is there something I can use with the TP so that I can connect remotely and do some work occasionlly?

Sometimes I will be at lunch and a service will need to be restarted or something... would save me a lot of trouble if I had my TP for emergencies like that!

This worked for me when connecting to a Cisco firewall (PIX). Give it a try...

Re: Connect to work servers remotely from TP... what VPN can I use?

wow, bluefire is $79.

i know the windows mobile has a vpn client. you can set it up via start/settings/connections/connections

under "my work network" select "add a new vpn connection"

i have mine set up, but it doesn't work very well. i can connect only 1 out of 5 tries. the only way i can do this is if i disable the current sprint connect and quick try to conect via the vpn connection. i dont know why, but that helps a little.

i hope to see this thread get some good replies. i have searched everywhere and really found nothing other than bluefire.

There is also an OpenVPN client for winmo. Google that.

Subscribing to this thread, we use Cisco VPN too and I'd love to hear if there's a solution for this on my TP.

I've never been able to get the built-in pptp client working (my router supports pptp connections, and it works perfectly from my laptop - but never once from my ppc )

Re: Connect to work servers remotely from TP... what VPN can I use?

I use AnthaVPN to connect to our Cisco Concentrators. Works very well, I was deciding on it or Bluefire, but Antha was cheaper, like $59 if I recall correctly. Seems like they even had a cheaper ver if you wanted to dedicate it to a particular concentrator but went ahead with the Pro myself. Works great. I use mToken for my SSH client, best one I have found so far, PocketPutty seemed real laggy, mToken is pretty snappy. If anyone has better recommendations for the SSH client do tell!
