OK, here's the updated CAB for the Classic Word Completion Hack.

NOTE: If you use Diamond Tweak, Diamond Config, Advanced Config or any other tweak program, DO NOT USE THEIR VERSION OF THIS TWEAK UNLESS YOU CONFIRM THEY DO IT THE RIGHT WAY FIRST.

Also attached is a new version of tweaks.xml for use with the Diamond TouchFlo3D Config program (YES! It contains the PROPER Classic Word Completion tweak, which is why I'm posting it!). All of the tweaks are safe for use with the Sprint Touch Pro device. It's called tweaks.xml.txt here for safe posting, so be sure to save it without the .txt before you put it on your phone and wonder why it doesn't work. You can do that by naming it "tweaks.xml" (with quotes) when saving. When copying it to the phone, put it in the \Program Files\Diamond TF3D Config folder.

How do you get the Sprint logo of the top? (That transparent one above the clock?) I've been looking all night on the TF3D and I did find a page of interest. Here is to anyone that wants it.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...41#post2784141 also, I tried searching and the only thing I found was about the "Sprint Music" one.

anyone know the tweak to have the volume button on the side raise volume up and down one bar at a time.. right now as default it makes it 3 bars at a time

i was ahvign an other issue in which i am not sure if one of these tweaks did it... really annoying

as soon as i slide open keyboard, the screen shifts to landscape and when i press any key on the keyboard it goes right to my dialpad and starts searching for a name via smartdial.... so if i go to reply to a text message .. i slide open keyboard.. looks like it is all ready for me to type in reply.. then upon first letter press.... it takes me to the phone dialpad .....please help !!!

if i close out the dialpad now and go back to the text message i can reply using the keyboard....

Re: Touch Pro Essentials

I do not recommend Advanced Config on ANY CDMA device. Ever. It messes up the dialing options.

Diamond Tweak has great potential but also has a tendency to make adjustments without an "OK" confirmation.

Diamond TF3D Config is fantastic! :)

Get Old School word correction back (same as was on Mogul, etc) - OLD HACK DIDN'T WORK RIGHT - Updated information here and here. UPDATED 11/11/2008

I did this hack and it still didnt fix the software keyboard problem. Any ideas?

Re: Touch Pro Essentials

Make sure you do the one on the "here" link... and soft-reset after you install it.

If that doesn't fix it, then I would avoid this hack like a plague until myself or someone else figures out what is causing it to break. The hack itself is fine, but something on the phone or some action is causing it to revert back to a mismatch of settings, and I'm not into playing guessing games.

A lot of people are still posting about incredibly unreliable battery life with the Touch Pro too... saying one day it's great, the next it's terrible, etc. This is both with and without all the battery tweaks and adjustments. So bottom line, I think this is more of a hardware issue than software.

Personally, I'm using mine precisely the same as I would have used my Mogul, and I'm having pretty much the exact same battery life... I still take it off the charger around 7am, use it mostly for email and text with maybe 30 minutes of calls/day, and I'm still hovering around 50-60% at 11pm.

My question for you is-- since you installed my cleanup pack, have you changed ANYTHING on your own through Settings, OR through other tweak programs like Advanced Config, Diamond Tweak, Diamond TF3D Config, etc? Have you installed anything? You mentioned Palringo which I know has a tendency to draw a lot of battery power if you don't enable it's power saver mode (it forces the data connection active otherwise, and since the HTC radio isn't very efficient right now, that's a bad thing to do especially in a low signal area).

well I didnt use a cleanup pack I just did the performance and battery tweaks .zip but to answer your question No I didnt make any changes on my own..

The nuePower driver is for the Diamond or the Titan, depending on the one you version you downloaded. It is not designed for the Touch Pro.

no2chem's own download page for it says that it isn't necessarily accurate either, especially in the upper 10%.

Re: Touch Pro Essentials

i think we need that program though to make the 1% increments on the battery signal , if we want the % of battery life... without that program it only goes in blocks of 10%

Hi Baffles, I have one to add. People can use the Manila Editor to tweak their files and really customize the heck out of their TF3D. Link for the software is here:

AND to understand the secrets of the manila files, go here:

EDIT: This is for the Diamond but many of the files are the same.....

The readme doesn't indicate any changes, but let me check...

S2U2 Settings > Information Section > Today's Weather Forecast from > Option 7 = Manila 3D Weather > Save

...Testing...

Doesn't show anything... doesn't show with Option 4 (HTC Home Weather), Option 5 (User Weather), or Option 6 (Manila 2D Weather) either... unless I'm just missing an additional option that needs turned on.

Re: Touch Pro Essentials

Maybe others know this already but it is fairly easy to add "scrolling" via the touch wheel to several of the apps
For example to add it to contacts add the following registry settings
1) add "Contacts" folder to HKLM\Software\HTC\SmartTouch\
2) create string "ClassName" value="MSContactsUI"
2) create DWORD "WheelCount" value="2"
4) create DWORD "Mode" value="4"

Credit goes to this post which contains a cab that will "activate" the touch wheel in many other apps: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...41&postcount=2

I have not tried the cab but have done the contact registry changes above and now I can use the touch wheel to scroll through my contacts- good luck and have fun!

Convenient timing hbenz... I was just digging through registry settings right this moment explicitly for T9 settings and was wondering if two particular settings were the culprit...

IMPORTANT: previously be sure that HKLM\Software\Tegic\eT9\XT9SupportMSSip has a value of 0.

This may just be the key and the reason the existing hacks don't work and eventually reverts back. I'll be posting a new cab... meh, right now.

Let's see if this version sticks! :) (I'm posting the new cab here, but I'll also replace the two other copies floating around as well just in case people grab those by accident.)

mine is set to "1".. what is that stating ?

This registry value is what enables XT9 support with the MS (Microsoft) SIP (Standard Input Protocol). 1 = True, 0 = False. If you use T9 mode, you should leave it as 1 (default).

The cab I've posted adjusts that value automatically when you install it.

Soft reset and perform the following changes in Control Panel:

1. Start > Settings > Input.
2. Select Full QWERTY and click Options.
3. Select English, "Turn on one-touch symbol entry" and click T9 Settings.
4. Check ONLY the first and fourth options, uncheck the second and third.
5. Click OK twice to return to the main Input screen.
6. Click the Word Completion tab.
7. The options here SHOULD now work the way they've always worked on the Mogul and Touch, so set them how you want and open Word or a text message and give it a try.

Let's say you open a new text message to send to a friend... you start typing away (hardware or software keyboard), and you type the following:

Code:

i dont wa
With Classic Word Completion enabled, as you type it will automatically convert it to the following:

Code:

I don't wa

          [want]
          [wash]
          [watch]

As you can see it autocorrected the I and the don't and now it's offering (right in the text block as you type rather than in the soft-keyboard area), choices on what you want to use to finish the wa.

It's faster, it's more accurate, and you don't have to look at multiple points on the screen. :)

Didn't read thru all of the post, so I hope this is new info/tip.

Increase number of tabs in Opera:
Ensure Opera is NOT running.
In \Windows\Opera9\opera.ini
Change Maximum Allowed Tabs to desired number. Don't know what the max is. I use 7 and haven't had any problem for weeks.

Someone mentioned that you need to edit Opera1.ini as well, but I don't know if that's necessary. I haven't. Maybe someone can advise better.

I'm not sure since I only use the autocorrection enabled... I actually hate the word completion option. :) But that said, it does seem pretty odd. I'm not sure if that's a compromise/limitation of using the word completion hack, or if that's an actual bug.

Not exactly the same, no. The XDA version doesn't integrate all of the known solutions for this hack. Specifically, they leave out the one that sets the current style to ABC instead of T9. Therefore, it doesn't act as a quick-fix if and when the issue appears again in the future.

By the way, while pink is indeed a very sexy color, and I always enjoy talking to a lovely lady in pink, it is incredibly difficult to read on a blue background...

I always edit files by copying them to the PC, editing in Notepad, and then copying back to the phone. I find it much easier that way since I can keep a backup copy handy in case of a mistake. However, you can also use Total Commander for file editing, but make sure that Opera is fully closed before editing the file.

Be extremely cautious running Advanced Config on a CDMA-based phone like the Touch Pro! It will break your ability to answer your phone. Please see the fix on the first post if that happens.

If you're on the PC looking through ActiveSync, make sure you enable Windows Explorer to show all hidden files... Tools > Folder Options > View tab, and you'll find 3 options in the middle of the listing about hidden files/folders and system files... basically, set it up so that it shows everything.
