Can the number of Favorite People be increased?

Why isnt it circular.. when u go to last favorite it doesnt start at your first one again ... have to go bckwards.... thats dumb

i am trying my best to use tf3d but i keep feeling its more eye candy then actually real customizable to fit everyones needs

You're right... it's NOT a friendly customization process at all. In fact, it is the WORST customization experience I've ever had, but only because the tools aren't available to make it an easy experience. Keep in mind though, the beauty of Windows Mobile is there are always plenty of alternatives like HTC Home, Winterface, and Spb Mobile Shell.

This isn't the iPhone people... NOTHING in Windows Mobile is meant to be the end-all-be-all experience.

I probably have a lot more contacts than most.
9 on my speed dial
16 on my favorites but would like 50-100
1000- on my outlook/pda contact list
3500+ on my crm server via internet on my pda

While you may feel that it would slow it down too much if more favorite people were allow(and you might be right) it still would probably be faster than what I currently go through and I would have a confirmation picture right there. If you look at the time it takes to use the side scrol and then scrol 16 favorites from front to back is about 2-3 seconds making it 12-15 seconds if there were a hundred with no slow down. Thats just not that bad. But to each his own. I would bet that if someone makes this customizable it will get used a lot and become a must have.

As an IT guy professionally, I guarantee you that having your TouchFLO interface lock up while it processes 1000-3500 contacts (or worse, freezing up and forcing a reset) is NOT going to be faster, also scrolling in TouchFLO is slower than scrolling in other applications, so you're going to lose even more time. If I were a betting man, I'd bet my entire career on that fact.

Also, your company should fire you for storing 3500 company contacts on your phone in the first place (even if it's company issued!)... that or shoot you if you ever lose your phone!! I would never allow my users to store that much on something that can be lost or stolen so easily... not even the CEO who happens to be a good friend.

Based on the information, I'm betting you're a sales rep for your company which is why you feel a need to have access to that information. Whether you really communicate with that many people or whether you just feel you need to be able to is not for me to decide, but I DO think you need to discuss the matter with your IT team to find out if there are better ways to access that information... via the web, perhaps.

Oh, and one last comment-- if you really do communicate with that many contacts on a regular basis... DUDE! You are severely overworked! Make them hire you a team!

PS-- If I had quicker access to the "Company Directory" search feature, then yes, I would definitely back you up on that!

dude i think your not reading I already have a solution and use it daily. I already access the 3500+ lead via my internet crm program called wired contact.........I am NOT looking to replace it, it works I am happy. I have numerous IT guys and I have four businesses and watch everything I can with them, I don't sell but watch those who do.

All I would like to do increase my favorites people to 50-100 as I have posted several times. But yes you are VERY correct putting 3500 as favorites would be rediculous and you can bet your carreer on it and win. 50 -100 on the other hand probably can and will be done by someone else and I wouldnt if I were you bet your career on that.

Part of the reason I desparately wanted the Touch Pro was because of the increased memory to handle these types of tasks.

Ah, now I see. I thought you were saying you actually synced those contacts to your phone! Wow, my bad on that.

Still, I'll stand by the fact that even at 1 second of time per contact to scroll through in TouchFLO, that will take almost a minute for 50 contacts to scroll through when you could just suck it up and open All People and start typing in a name to get where you want in a lot less time. When you go to Contacts, see at the top where it says "Enter a name..." you can use that to filter the list to just the matches you punch in, and that took me 5 seconds to punch in Mar and have all the Marks and Marlenes listed.

Anyway, doesn't change the current circumstances... no way to extend the current listing. No reghacks (the actual icon selections aren't even stored there, went clear through it this morning while responding to posts), and no one has documented a method yet to hack the actual manila file.

Even with Spb Mobile Shell, you can at max get 32-48, but that would sacrifice other functionality to achieve it. I'm sorry, but you're just going to have to cope with what you have for now.

Thanks, but I can still hope. and it takes 2 seconds for 16 favorites end to end using the slide bar, making it 8 seconds for 50 and 15 seconds for 100.....still alot easier than getting out of TF3D and scrolling through "contacts" which takes over 10 seconds to scroll thourgh 100 just to get to the letter not the person.

Is there anyway to reorganize the favorite contacts? I would like to have my girlfriend at the top, then siblings next. It does it in alphabetical order.

If you aren't able to increase the amount of you favorites, then you should be able to at least choose between having your contact list there or your favorites. No sense in just forcing you to have a limited amount of favorites. I hope it turns out we can increase!

this is something i would like to possibility to increase(not to the same level, but an increase to maybe 30) i have 10 brothers and sisters plus in-laws, parents, close friends, etc. i use tf3d fairly exclusively(i like the sprint tabs, i actually use them) and it is nice to not have to "get out of it", IMO.
